Leonardo and"divino licore dell’uva" (divine grape juice)

A letter published in London in 1828 speaks of the 'perfectione del grappolo" (perfection of the grape bunch) and “exentia in el bullimento” (essence in fermentation).. You might think it was written by an expert wine maker of the sixteenth century.
In fact it is though to have been written by Leonardo Da Vinci, and there is no reason to doubt its authenticity.
Leonardo came from a family of notaries public, owners of kilns for ceramics and of land for the cultivation of grapes and the production of wine that even in the days of the Medicil family was well-known for its quality: Il Montalbano di Vinci e Carmignano.
Wherever he went, Leonardo studies systems of cultivation and barvesting and applied Greek and Roman technology to design table fountains for wine he called divine or honoured grape juice. And featured protagonist of stories and scientistic treaties.
